A rite of passage for the modern man

Built for the everyday man. Not the man who has it all worked out, the man who knows something is missing. Four days to step into the unknown in good company, and come home a deeper version of yourself.

The four pillars

Everything on this weekend is built on them.

Vitality

Breathwork, movement, sweat lodge, cold water and adventure. Build a body that can carry the load.

Purpose

Get clear on what you are here for, and who you are carrying it for. Your whānau, your work, your community.

Connection

Brotherhood is the medicine. Elders, mentorship and men who will hold you to your word.

Depth

Fire circles, silence, inner work. Go beneath the surface and meet yourself there.

Where the experience of Outward Bound meets the kinship of brotherhood, and the care of a wellbeing retreat.

Created for men looking to

  • Integrate head, heart, belly and body
  • Rediscover authenticity and connection
  • Break free from masks and societal roles
  • Be challenged and supported into a deeper version of themselves
  • Belong to a community of grounded, emotionally aware men across Aotearoa

This is where men come to find their edge, and to find the men who will stand at it with them.

Set in 3,000 acres of wilderness

Mangaroa Farms

Forty minutes from Wellington, our home base at Mangaroa Farms offers an incredible landscape and high-level facilities for recalibration and transformation.

A home to visionaries and dreamers - it now becomes your space for purification and expansion.

From the men who have sat in it

“

Every man in New Zealand would benefit from the opportunity to attend a BROS weekend. Support, play, connection and unlocking your true potential all exist within what BROS is building. If you know a man who needs this, or are one yourself, this is the place you've been searching for.

Dominic Bowden

“

This weekend allowed me to find, forgive and nourish my inner child. Something I have been struggling to do for a long time. The open space, open minds and open hearts is something I will treasure forever.

Tom Lancashire

“

If you want to feel integrated, whole and vital as a man, in a world where there is no compass - this is the place.

Cam Watts

“

If you seek a reward greater than the one that is desired and known, BROS are ready.

Facilitated by the BROS Leadership community.

Dave Lewis

An elder in the BROS community. Dave has spent decades building communities - from running international surf comps to guiding youth through rites of passage and leadership training. With a big heart for service, he is all about supporting the next generation of men to become grounded fathers and leaders in their whānau and wider world.

John Vissers

Todd Flashman

Todd leads with his heart. A passionate and dedicated father and family man who, as an elder, carries a heartfelt willingness to support, care and nurture. Todd has trained and mentored over 40 apprentices through his construction business and now brings that combined passion and wisdom to our brotherhood.

Graedon Parker

Graedon brings a deep passion for building positive culture and masculine vitality, holding spaces for brothers and studying in the realms of men's work in NZ and the USA for the last seven years. A graphic artist, wellbeing entrepreneur and Edmund Hillary Fellow, he draws on a decade creating wellbeing enterprise Organic Mechanic.

Billy Lewis

A passionate leader with training in masculine embodiment, traditional hatha yoga, and community engagement. Billy got into men's work with a desire to witness brothers deepen their ability to connect with themselves and impact the world around them. He is a storyteller, digital creator and outdoor enthusiast.

Dane Scott

Dane is a multifaceted, multidimensional being. One of his deep passions is weaving together the stories of people, inextricably linked to the land.
